When it comes to developing safety footwear, Bata Industrials is constantly casting a critical eye beyond the borders of its own work area. The most recent evidence of this is the introduction of three Traxx safety shoes which are equipped with the unique and patented Boa lacing system. This is a system that finally puts an end to the traditional shoelace, guarantees a perfect fit, and ensures that the wearer literally acquires a ‘firm footing’ throughout the entire working day.
A promising follow-up The Boa lacing system was invented by Boa Technology Inc., a company located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, USA.(see www.boatechnology.com). This company places a high priority on making laces in shoes a thing of the past. This mission has paid off in the vast appreciation the system has acquired among participants in numerous sports such as snowboarding, running and cycling. Through the partnership between Boa Technology, Inc. and Bata Industrials, the achievement of this mission has received an exclusive and promising follow-up in the safety shoe world with the production of three trendy Traxx models, promoted under the slogan “the right click”.
Traxx without laces The lightweight and beautifully designed Traxx 212, 213 and 214 offer the perfect protection and exceptional comfort in dry working environments. This is due in part to the FlexGuard composite mid-sole which prevents the conduction of cold, and the breathable nylon mesh uppers. However, the key feature of these new showpieces from Bata Industrials is really the revolutionary Boa lacing system: a durable yet technical tour-de-force that intelligently combines comfort and convenience with an optimum level of safety. This makes the Boa lacing system a more than fitting replacement for traditional lacing systems. And this means the end of untied laces, a major cause of trip-and-fall incidents on the (industrial) work floor.

A detailed look at the system The Boa lacing system consists of three integrated advanced technical features: a lace reel, a sturdy stainless steel lace and flexible lace guides. The interplay between these parts results in a secure fastening and even pressure distribution. This prevents the constriction of circulation in the foot, and the wearer can hardly tell he or she is wearing shoes. The Boa lacing system also provides exceptional convenience and an optimum level of safety. A quick turn of the lace reel enables the wearer to attain the perfect fastening and fit with an easy click. By moving the reel forwards, the shoe may be removed in a single motion. And if the upper part of the shoe becomes stretched in the course of a working day, a quick turn of the reel ensures a perfect fastening and fit of the shoe.

The best of Traxx! The EN ISO 20345 S1 P certified Traxx 212, 213 and 214 are available in sizes 39-48 and are equipped with all of the technology and features that have come to typify this collection from Bata Industrials. To start, the QuattroTech sole for perfect grip, protection and support. In addition, the Torson stabiliser provides extra sturdiness and support. The FlexGuard composite mid-sole prevents conduction of cold and protects the entire foot from heat and the penetration of sharp objects. The models are also equipped with the energy-saving, increased comfort of the Easy Rolling System and the shock-absorbing Tunnelsystem. The TPU toecap lengthens the lifespan of the shoe, thus generating cost-savings. The Bata Cool Comfort-lining ensures, cool, dry feet and a fit wearer. Finally, uppers are made from nubuck leather and breathable nylon mesh for optimal climate management in the shoe.
