| | News > New concept for Germany: Bata-adapt |
The health and comfort of employees are important to their motivation and productivity. Safety shoes play an important role in achieving these goals. After all, not only is every person unique, but no two people have the same feet. Actually, everyone should wear shoes that are custom-made to their feet. However, this is not financially feasible. Up until now, problems with size ranges always had to be solved through the application of individual measures. However, these solutions were also accompanied by new problems. Using a phased system, Bata Industrials has the means (knowledge and technology) to determine whether or not individual modifications are necessary.
With Bata-adapt, Bata Industrials is the first company to offer a total solution. Consisting of four steps, The Bata-adapt foot-care concept even makes it possible as early as step one to gear the interior of the safety shoe to the individual foot. In addition, series production is also possible; the shoes are not manufactured on an individual basis. With over 100 years of experience, Bata Industrials, the largest shoe organisation in the world, has now put this concept into practice.
Steps two through four vary from the measurement of the feet in 2D and 3D and ready-to-wear and individual inlay soles to the production of orthopaedic safety shoes. Within this scope, Bata Industrials works together with the German company IETEC GmbH, which is specialised in individual inlay soles.
Depending on the work environment, the working conditions or the wearer’s physical condition, the shoe may be manufactured to fit the his or her foot perfectly. The basis for this is the extensive The Natural collection, the safety shoe with a natural last available in four widths. With Bata-adapt, companies can be assured their employees will be fit and motivated, which ultimately saves money as the result of a lower incidence of absence due to illness.
