Bata Industrials is also making increasingly more headway in Italy. The most recent success the company has achieved in the ‘boot of Europe’, was the contract it has concluded with Veritas for the supply of safety shoes. In being selected for this contract, Bata Industrials left thirteen other safety shoe manufacturers behind. A brief summary of Bata Industrials latest achievement in Southern Europe. Active in the field of community services, Veritas was the result of a merger between the companies Acm, Asp and VESTA in July of 2007. The result of the merger is an organisation offering an extensive range of services in 34 cities in the areas surrounding Venice. Among other activities, Veritas is active in the fields of waste incineration, recycling, waste collection, water purification and open space planning. These activities are carried out by 1200 people in the field and 800 office employees.    Tender The creation of Veritas was also the starting shot for a search for the best safety shoes in existence. To find these, the company issued a tender to which fourteen safety shoe manufacturers responded with an offer. After completing a careful, strict selection process, two suppliers remained. Bata Industrials was one of them. Both suppliers were asked to supply various shoes which Veritas would subject to a number of tests. The safety footwear from Bata Industrials achieved the best results from these tests. The choice was further reinforced by the fact that the safety shoes from Bata Industrials are light and comfortable, and are characterised by excellent value-for-money. Sikura The actual performance of the contract acquired by Bata Industrials will go through Sikura, Bata Industrials’ dealer in Italy. In providing Veritas with made-to-measure service, Sikura will be supplying four models from the BS2000 collection: Ottawa, Orlando, Colorado and Toledo. In addition, Sikura will devote special attention to the nearly 40 Veritas employees who suffer from foot problems. To better serve these wearers, the selection will be expanded with the addition of other models, including The Natural, available in four widths.
